The Mindkind participated in two of Barcelona’s leading innovation events, meeting international investors and exploring partnerships for traceable, adaptive AI. The congress also brought recognition for technology partner ACISA.

Barcelona, 6 November 2026. The Mindkind participated in Smart City Expo World Congress 2026 and the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, held simultaneously at Fira Barcelona – Gran Via from 3 to 5 November. Represented by its Founder & CEO, Mario Garcés, the company joined the international technology ecosystem to explore commercial partnerships, exchange perspectives on the future of artificial intelligence and meet with international investors.

For The Mindkind, these events offered two complementary perspectives on the same strategic challenge: taking a differentiated AI architecture from scientific research to applications, customers and international scale.

Two events connecting technology, cities and global opportunity

Under the theme Urban Solutions, Real Impact, Smart City Expo World Congress brought together city representatives, technology companies, research organisations and innovators working on practical solutions for urban environments. According to Fira de Barcelona’s official closing report, the 2026 edition welcomed 29,721 attendees from 140 countries.

Alongside it, the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit brought together deep-tech founders, investors, researchers, corporations and institutions around the challenges of commercialising scientific breakthroughs. Its agenda covered advanced AI, technology sovereignty, financing, corporate adoption and international expansion.

Attending both provided The Mindkind with a valuable opportunity to connect its research-led vision of AI with two closely related communities: organisations looking for effective solutions to real-world challenges, and partners capable of helping ambitious deep technology scale.

Conversations with international investors about a different route to AGI

An important part of The Mindkind’s participation was dedicated to meetings with international investors, presenting the company’s technological differentiation, commercial development and long-term vision for Algorithmic Artificial General Intelligence (A-AGI).

The investment proposition rests on a distinctive approach: intelligence by architecture, not by scale. Rather than depending exclusively on ever-larger statistical models, The Mindkind develops the proprietary ETR Cognitive Architecture, grounded in neuroscience and complex systems, to investigate how adaptive and traceable intelligence can emerge from the interaction of specialised processes.

The company is translating that research into commercial capabilities through ETR 0.5-FLY, its adaptive, explainable AI technology for applications in which the reasoning behind decisions matters as much as the outcome. Its emphasis on native traceability, efficient computation and continuous adaptation provides a basis for conversations with investors seeking differentiated technology and measurable paths to market.

These conversations broadened The Mindkind’s network of potential financial and industrial partners and supported its preparations for the next stage of international development.

Barcelona Deep Tech Summit: from research to international scale

Discussions at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit addressed a challenge that resonates strongly with The Mindkind’s own journey: how European scientific innovation can become globally competitive technology businesses.

Among the sessions featured at the event was “Deep Tech Across Borders: Europe, the US and the Path to Scale”, bringing international investment perspectives to questions of cross-border growth, market access and financing. The broader programme also examined the relationship between public and private capital, technological sovereignty and the adoption of advanced technologies by industry.

For The Mindkind, these conversations reinforced the importance of connecting long-term foundational research with a staged commercial roadmap, industrial validation and access to global capital.

Smart City Expo: practical applications for explainable AI

At Smart City Expo, attention turned to the operational demands of real environments: mobility networks, city infrastructure, connected systems and the need to balance efficiency with safety and accountability.

These challenges are closely related to The Mindkind’s technological focus. In complex systems, apparently minor variables may interact to create major consequences. AI used to support operational decisions therefore needs to adapt to changing conditions while keeping decisions understandable and auditable.

The event also created opportunities to discuss potential collaborations with technology providers, system integrators and organisations interested in applying advanced AI to critical processes.

A welcome recognition for ACISA and the MOB-IA collaboration

One of the highlights of the week was the recognition of ACISA, a technology collaborator of The Mindkind, as one of the two winners of the Barcelona Innova Lab Mobility Challenge #5, alongside Kapsch TrafficCom.

ACISA’s winning proposal, MOB-IA, explores the use of an AI-powered digital twin to predict traffic patterns and improve the coordination of traffic lights across urban corridors. The Mindkind collaborates with ACISA on the project, which brings together complementary expertise in urban mobility infrastructure and advanced artificial intelligence.

We congratulate the ACISA team on this important recognition. The company will cover MOB-IA and the planned Barcelona pilot in a separate dedicated update.

More information is available in the official challenge announcement.

Building the next stage of The Mindkind

The Mindkind’s participation in both events reflects an ongoing transition from foundational AI research towards practical applications and broader international engagement.

Barcelona provided a setting to strengthen relationships with potential investors, connect with industrial innovators and demonstrate why traceable, explainable and efficient AI matters across sectors — from intelligent urban mobility to other critical systems.

The objective is clear: to turn an alternative cognitive architecture into useful technology, sustainable partnerships and measurable real-world value.

AGI is the destination. Traceable adaptive intelligence is the business on the way.
